Functional Statement:The City Agriculturist shall take charge of the office for agricultural services. Formulate measure relative to agricultural services and development plans and strategies, implement the same particularly those which have to do with programs and projects related to agricultural services which the Mayor is empowered to implement. The Agricultural Office provides services for agriculture, fishery, livestock and various crops. They avail fertilizer and provide farm inputs. They have an agricultural support and provide palay seeds and fruit-bearing seeds. They do the coordination on where to get the supplies. They also provide Seminars and Trainings. They have livelihood activities and artificial insemination for carabao and cattle. They also have the production for the dispersal of animals like the carabao, cattle and the swine. They also conduct Cooking Demo and Food Preservation. They have monthly meeting (regarding pangkabuhayan).They have an exchange program wherein there is a local and foreign exchange of young farmers. They provide enhancement for these young farmers and there are livelihood projects for them. The Agriculture Office also has a Palay Check and explores the recommended technology. They have Farmers Field School for rice and vegetables. They have plans like the Modified Rapid Composting for rice ("Tipid abono") and the Soil Analysis wherein they will gather soil sample. There is also an Eco-derma, wherein the fertilizer to be used will be the natural one. Objectives:• To formulate measures for the approval of the Sangguniang Bayan and assist the Mayor in carrying out said measures to ensure the delivery of services relative to Agricultural Services;• To develop plans and strategies, implement the same particularly those which have to do with agricultural programs and projects; • To ensure the maximum assistance and access to resources in the production, processing and marketing of agricultural products, extended to farmers; • To conduct agricultural research studies and assist in making available the appropriate technology arising out disseminating information on basic research on crops, prevention and control of plants pests and diseases. • To enforce rules and regulations relating to agriculture; • To exercise such other powers and perform such other duties and functions as may be prescribed by the law or ordinance.
